Themes I usually paint include: Halloween, witches, pagan/wiccan themes, fairies, cats, dragons, fantasy scenes, gothic scenes, fairy tales, mythology...I'm always willing to try something new. I can create new versions of most of the paintings from my gallery, or I can create one based on your own description, sketch, etc., using whatever information you want to provide! As this is not my full time job, I am flexible on prices and they are only given as a 'suggestion' to compensate for time, materials, etc.
Some popular custom paintings include fantasy portraits of people, families and pets; paintings of houses (in Halloween or other settings); mourning art commemorating the loss of a pet; and variations on my gallery paintings. Although I'm not specifically a portrait artist, if you provide photos I can include you in the painting - providing a photo with the expression/angle you want will allow a more exact likeness to be painted.
For an idea of my style, the paintings above and my current listings on ebay or Etsy (seller ID: sarada) will give you a good idea of what to expect. Here are my basic price suggestions -- if you request something with a lot of complexity, research or preliminary sketches it could increase the cost but I would let you know before starting work if that was the case. All prices are for acrylic paintings and do not include shipping charges. Please note that the paintings in my gallery are almost all originally 9 x 12 and I would need to paint them at least that large to get all of the detail in. Smaller sizes are available for less detailed paintings or for smaller subject matter, prices vary but would generally be under $50.
8 x 10 inch: $60 canvas board; $75 stretched canvas
9 x 12 inch: $75 canvas board; $100 stretched canvas
12 x 16 inch: $100 canvas board; $120 stretched canvas
16 x 20 inch: $150 stretched canvas only
18 x 24 inch: $200 stretched canvas
Larger sizes negotiable depending on availability of requested size and cost of materials.
9 x 12 paintings will take at least two weeks to complete upon receipt of payment. For 16 x 20 or larger please allow 4 to 8 weeks depending on the size and my current workload.
If you want to contact me for a custom painting, please describe what you'd like and e-mail or snail-mail any pictures or images that you specifically want to include, or which resemble the idea that you have. I will sketch out what I intend to paint (my sketches are VERY rough! i'm much more a painter than a drawer!) and e-mail it to you before starting work to make sure we're thinking of the same image.
SHIPPING: For a 9 x 12 painting, shipping is $5.00 within the U.S. Insurance and delivery confirmation are optional and can both be included for an additional $2.00. I can mail up to two paintings at this rate; there may be additional shipping charges depending on your location for three or more paintings.
For sizes over 9 x 12, shipping cost will depend on location due to the new post office "zones." I will determine actual postage cost based on your location and the size/weight of the package.
Outside the U.S., shipping rates will be determined based on your location and whether you prefer surface (affordable but very slow) or air mail (very expensive but fast).
I accept PAYPAL in US funds, and can also accept money orders or checks if that is preferable for you.
